All of our Exposed Thermostatic Shower Mixers are safe for all the family to use there is a temperature override button set at 38 degrees centigrade that makes it difficult for young children to select the highest temperatures.
 
 
Why choose a Thermostatic Shower?
Combination Boilers and Unvented Hot Water Cylinders supply a set amount of hot water, this means when another Shower or Tap is turned on while you are in the Shower the temperature can alter and an unpleasant thermal shock can be experienced.

ALL OF OUR THERMOSTATIC SHOWER MIXERS MAINTAIN THE SHOWERING TEMPERATURE DURING FLUCTUATIONS IN WATER PRESSURE.
 

 
Also our Thermostatic Showers feature ANTI SCALD PROTECTION the Thermostat mixer will automatically shut down when the cold water supply fails.
 
For a neat professional installation of our WALL MOUNTED EXPOSED THERMOSTATIC SHOWERS we only recommend that the supply pipework to the shower is concealed in the wall, as shown in the product picture.

Our Exposed showers are thermostatic and have matching handles to our co-ordinating Bathroom Tap ranges:
 
The Overhead Rain shower head is telescopic and adjustable during installation on the majority of our Exposed Thermostatic Shower Poles.
 
The Oslo 2204 and Cruz 3304 are not telescopic so the Overhead Rain Shower is at a fixed height.
 
IXIA/Kyra Exposed Showers are thermostatic and are available with a choice of Shower Kits. All our showers operate at their best with a hot and cold water pressure of 1.0 bar high pressure and above, hot and cold water supplied from a high pressure system.

Our Luxury IXIA/Kyra Shower Poles Oslo 2204 and Cruz 3304 feature a bank of four Bodyjets, we recommend a minimum water pressure of 1 Bar for these products.

HELP TO IDENTIFY  YOUR HOT WATER SYSTEM.
 
HIGH PRESSURE(HP): Recommended.
Water pressures of 1.0 bar and above are usually supplied from the following systems:
Combination (combi) boiler systems(HP): Recommended. 
Cold water from the mains water supply is heated by the combination boiler.
Pressure range: 1.0 Bar to 5.0 Bar.
Average flow rate of Hot water: 10 Litres per minute.
Ideal for all IXIA/KYRA Bathroom Taps and Showers  (excluding Kyra and Oslo body jets).
 
Unvented mains hot water cylinder(HP): Recommended.
Cold water from the mains water supply is fed to the hot water cylinder pressurising the hot water. e.g. Megaflo
Pressure range: incoming cold water mains supply usually set at 3 Bar on cylinder.
Average flow rate of hot water: 20 Litres per minute, depending on incoming mains cold water pressure and pipe sizing.
Ideal for IXIA/KYRA Bathroom Taps and Showers ( including Kyra and Oslo body jets).
 
Pumped tank feed gravity hot water systems(HP): Recommended.
Low pressure system converted to high pressure hot water system by the addition of a pump.
Pumping the Hot and Cold tank fed supplies to the Shower.
Pressure range: 1 Bar to 3 Bar Pumps Single or Twin Pumps are available.
Average flow rate: Depends on size of Pump, Distance to be pumped, Resistance in pipework, Size of pipes.
IXIA/KYRA Bathroom Taps and Showers work well with the sizes of Pumps above.
 
IXIA/KYRA Showers with Kyra and Oslo body jets require a 3 Bar pump on 22mm pipes to Shower with short and low resistance pipe runs.
 
Why choose a Thermostatic Shower for a Pumped System?
Answer: If the cold water storage tank is emptied quicker than is filled hot water will still be pumped to the Shower, all of our Thermostatic Showers Mixers feature ANTI SCALD PROTECTION and shut down when the cold water supply fails.
 
LOW PRESSURE GRAVITY: Not recommended.
Water pressures below 0.5 bar are usually tank feed gravity hot water systems. This is usually where a cold water storage tank is in the loft and displaces the hot water from the hot tank to your taps and shower.

The pressure (in bar) can be worked out by calculating the vertical distance between the bottom of the cold water storage tank and the shower head or tap.

E.g. Distance of 2 meters from bottom of Cold Water Storage Tank to shower head = 0.2 bar Low Pressure.
